YOUNGSTERS are keeping the faith at the Barnsley Civic in a new show about the iconic music of northern soul.
‘Do I Love You?’ – from the Yorkshire based John Godber Company – follows three 20 somethings who dance, sing and laugh their way into rediscovering the important culture of the northern soul movement.
The play will mark the first time a brand new John Godber show has toured to Barnsley and comes to the Civic on October 6 and 7.
A spokesperson for the company said: “What started as a college project has grown into a passion – far beyond their home city of Hull they find excitement, purpose and the tribe they’ve been looking for.
“Now they can’t get enough – from Brid Spa to Stoke, from Chesterfield to the Tower Ballroom, our young soulies are determined to keep the faith.”
