A LOCAL charity has issued an urgent appeal for help to replace flooring at their main centre, just off Dodworth Road in Barnsley.

BIADS - Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support - are asking for anyone who can offer some replacement vinyl flooring or support the charity in any way to get in touch.

The room in question measures 54 square metres and for the last ten years has been used for the majority of social gatherings, activities groups and drop-in cafes at Joseph Exley House, Dean Street, Barnsley.

It is now definitely looking the worse for wear! With no Government funding, this plea is to ensure that the room is accessible for all for the next ten years at least.

A BIADS spokesperson said: “As many BIADS members have space awareness issues, limited mobility and can shuffle or be unsure on their feet, some regularly attend with walking frames and in wheelchairs. For obvious reasons they need the floor to continue to be fit for purpose.”

If you think you may be able to help please give BIADS a call on 01226 280057.
