A HOYLANDSWAINE couple are set to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary later this month and they say patience is the key to a long and happy marriage.
Pat and Rob Melton, now 89 and 90 respectively, will celebrate their big day on June 20 having married at Hoylandswaine Church in 1953.
Having met in Bridlington two years earlier, the pair tied the knot and have stayed together ever since.
They have three children, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat said: “Patience is the secret to a happy marriage.
“I think that we’ve both got quite a lot of that.”
