FROM David Batty to Kalvin Phillips, Leeds United have always had a big name in the centre of midfield - and Cudworth lad Hugo Brown could be the next player to don the famous white jersey.
Despite only being five years old, Hugo impressed scouts last month at a practice game between his Pinfold Pumas and Hemsworth - earning him a four-week trial at the Premier League club.
His dad, 35-year-old Ryan, is now hoping his passion will shine through later this month and he’ll secure a permanent deal at the West Yorkshire outfit.
He told the Chronicle: “A scout approached me a couple of weeks ago and asked if we’d be interested in a trial at Leeds for Hugo.
“I received an email from the Leeds team a few days later offering him a trial for four weeks at the end of May.
“I’m so proud of him.”
He’s already had summer camps with Sheffield Wednesday - local rivals of his beloved Blades - but this is undoubtedly his biggest chance yet.
“He’s come on leaps and bounds in the last year or so,” Ryan added.
“We’ve not put too much pressure on it but he knows who Leeds are and he’s excited about it.
“Ever since he was a baby he’s loved playing with footballs.
“His passion for the game really shines through - he wants to win.”
