A NURSERY in Monk Bretton took part in a range of exercises recently in a bid to raise £500 for autism awareness.

Playdays Nursery, on Burton Road, celebrated Autism Awareness Week by setting up a fundraiser and getting involved in fitness regimes.
Over the course of the week, the Playdays’ staff completed 1,000 squats, 1,000 star jumps, five hours worth of weighted hula-hoops and a 50-mile bike ride.
The nursery also held bake sale stalls and a tombola to raise as much money as possible for the cause.
Zoe Kemp, nursery manager and special educational needs co-ordinator,said: “We have many children with autism in our setting so in honour of National Autism Awareness Week, we wanted to hold our very own fitness week.”
