A TREE that collapsed on the Trans Pennine Trail earlier in the week has since been cleared by the council.

Barnsley Council’s rights of way staff were made aware of a tree that had fallen over and was blocking the Trans Pennine Trail between the A61 and the railway footbridge across Worsbrough Reservoir stretch on Wednesday.

A spokesperson from the Trans Pennine Trail informed locals that the council had managed to clear the tree which was blocking the trail on Thursday morning.
