A LOCAL builders’ merchant are taking part in a community initiative that will see 100 good deeds carried out over the next few months.

MKM Building Supplies, on Twibell Street – who have sponsored Barnsley Hospice’s ‘loose change box appeal’ for the last two years – are taking part in a ‘100 Good Deeds’ campaign to celebrate the opening of its 100th branch nationwide.

The Barnsley branch chose to support Barnsley Hospice for its good deed.

Mark Winstanley, branch director at MKM Barnsley, said: “We’ve sponsored the hospice’s loose change appeal for the last two years. We are very proud to be part of MKM’s ‘100 Good Deeds’ campaign and we hope to continue supporting the hospice and making a difference.

“We do other things throughout the year, we often do breakfast mornings to raise funds for the hospice, and other fundraising events where we can. It’s all for a brilliant cause.”
