A CAWTHORNE children’s centre has retained its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.

The centre, based on Taylor Hill, picked up the rating following an inspection on October 21.

There are currently 102 children on roll at the site which employs 26 people.

During the inspection, the centre was praised for its children making ‘exceptional progress’, and how they make their kids feel ‘extremely safe and cared for’.

Carol Hill, the centre’s business manager, said: “It has been a challenging time through the pandemic, alongside the recruitment and retention crisis that is affecting the sector.

“Despite such challenges we are immensely proud to have retained our Outstanding inspection judgement.

“It is testament to the commitment of our high skilled staff team who drive the service to be the best it can be every day."

Childcare manager Sarah Baker added:“We are extremely proud of this result, our team show such unwavering dedication and passion towards the care, education and service they provide to our children and their families.

“They demonstrate such commitment to their roles with the children being kept firmly at the heart of the service.

“We are grateful to have a team who show genuine care and affection towards the children. “
