TEN public space dispersal orders were issued by officers in the town centre on Tuesday.

Police officers from Barnsley Central Neighbourhood Policing Team took to the streets following concerns from members of the public.

In a joint patrol with council wardens between 10am and 4pm, a number of issues were tackled.

A spokesperson added: “As a result of this partnership approach, a male was dealt with for drug-related offences, a number of stop-searches were conducted, ten dispersal orders were issued, along with a fixed penalty notice for breaching a similar order.”
