BARNSLEY’S residents are being asked to give feedback on the town’s household waste recycling centres by taking part in a consultation.

The current contract to run sites in Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster ends in October 2023 - and residents are being asked what improvements can be made.

Barnsley Council is also seeking opinions from local businesses on their waste disposal needs.

The survey will run until July 31 and can be found on the Barnsley Council website.

If you’re unable to complete the survey online, a paper copy can be found at Goldthorpe, Penistone and Wombwell Library, as well as the town centre Library @ the Lightbox.

Coun James Higginbottom, cabinet spokesperson for environment and transport, said: “Recycling and reducing waste is a really important part of protecting our environment.

“We want to encourage people to recycle wherever possible and our household waste recycling centres are integral to how we achieve that.

“We want to hear from residents about how we can continue to improve the service even further.”
