Council rebate to be paid by end of week

ELIGIBLE residents who pay their council tax by direct debit will receive their £150 rebate by the end of the week, the council have confirmed.

Barnsley Council has started making the payments into bank accounts - and those who don’t pay by direct debit but instead submitted an application should expect their funds during the first week of May.

A spokesperson for the council said: “We have created a dedicated line for any urgent queries.

“Call our helpline number (01226) 787787 and select option six.

“Please only use this if your query is urgent or you require help in completing the application form.”
