THE Met Office has issued a weather warning for severe winds and heavy rain in Barnsley today due to Storm Franklin.

Barnsley Council has its teams on standby and they’re ready to help when needed.

A number of roads have been flooded and should be avoided - these can be found by clicking here.

If you are affected by a power cut you can report it online to Northern Powergrid.

A council spokesperson added: “If your bin has blown over due to bad weather, it’s your responsibility to pick it up.

“Please make sure that your bins are as secure as they can be, especially during high winds.

“If your bin has just been emptied it’s more likely to tip, consider whether you need to move it to a place where it’s less likely to be blown over or get damaged.”
