Final interior touches are being made to new town centre cinema complex

THE final touches are now being made to the town centre's huge new Cineworld complex, before it opens in summer.

The 2,000-seater venue’s core structural work and external cladding was completed last year, but work has started on the venue’s 13-screen interior.

Barnsley Council leader Sir Steve Houghton said: “This is a very exciting time and we’re looking to the future with great confidence.

“Since the Glass Works began its phased opening in September, there’s been a hugely positive atmosphere and we’ve seen many people returning to the town centre for shopping and leisure.”
