A HOUSEBUILDER donated £150 to a Barnsley charity that supports homeless people.

Barratt Developments chose the town centre charity Barnsley Churches Drop-In Project as one of 11 charities to receive cash, as part of its contribution to areas where development has recently taken place.

The project runs a kitchen at Temperance House, Pitt Street, three times a week and recently provided Christmas lunches to people in need.

Darren Johnson, Construction Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West said the charity did ‘commendable work’ not just over Christmas and the winter period, but throughout the year.

“We are really pleased to have been able to support these eleven charities and hope that our donation helps them to continue providing support to people,” he added.
