BARNSLEY Hospital is reminding visitors that they need to provide a negative lateral flow test before they attend the maternity wards.

Bosses say they’re seeing a rise in the number of people attending the ward with the physical test itself which provides no indication when it was completed.

The ward also has no further stock of lateral flow tests for visitors.

A spokesperson said: “The hospital is seeing sharp rises in Covid-19 cases so please ensure you show evidence of a negative test - by way of an email or text from gov.uk website - completed before coming up to the hospital.

“Thank you for your help and co-operation with this, we appreciate all of your efforts to help keep everyone safe.”
