FOURTEENTH time is a charm for one park which has been awarded with a Green Flag Award – every year since 2007.

Elsecar Park and Local Nature Reserve has once again bagged the honour for its work maintaining the park as a much loved outdoor space.

The park is home to a cafe, play area, and local nature reserve.

Coun Chris Lamb, cabinet spokesperson for environment and transportation said: “I am delighted that Elsecar Park and Nature Reserve has received another award.

“It’s lovely to see people using our green spaces and enjoying the beautiful attractions of our borough.

“Elsecar Park has been a welcome green space for many visitors through the Covid pandemic, and its use and popularity it a testament to the hard work of the Parks team, our Friends and Volunteers and Café staff, working together over all these years to develop the site.

"We would like to thank them for their dedication to maintaining the park and keeping it a much-loved family favourite.”
