GRIMETHORPE Surgery will have a ‘severely’ limited amount of appointments available for booking today following Covid test results.
A number of members of staff on the clinical team are affected by either confirmed coronavirus test results or they’re awaiting the results of a PCR test - where swabs have to be sent to a lab.
A spokesperson for the surgery said: “If anyone thought Covid was a thing of the past, we now get confronted with the fact this is far from the truth.
“Several members of the clinical team are currently affected off with confirmed Covid or awaiting the results of a PCR test.
“This significantly affects the appointments available.
“Although we have added extra appointments to some of the doctor’s sessions, this will in no way weigh up to the lack due to absent team members.
“Please, don’t take it out on our reception staff.
“They do the best they can under the difficult circumstances.
“If no further appointments are available, and you require a same-day appointment, please contact i-Heart between 4pm and 6 pm on 242419 instead.
“You can also contact the surgery using the online system available on our website, however, this only for non-urgent problems as it can take two working days to respond to your query.”
