POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary at a pharmacy on Friday.
At around 4.40pm on September 3 it is reported that the shutters were ripped off the front of a pharmacy on King Street, Hoyland.
Persons unknown gained entry to the premises and an unknown quantity of medication was taken from behind the counter.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Tina Wilson of Barnsley CID said: "This is a targeted incident that has affected a local business both financially and emotionally.
“We are now working to recover the medication stolen and return it to the pharmacy as medication handled by anyone other than the intended recipient can cause harm.
“If you have any information, saw or heard anything that might help or are offered medication to buy from somebody else, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 129 of September 3.
