‘VERY brave’ teddy bears will be launched from the top of a Hoylandswaine church on Monday in a bid to raise funds for the group.

The event, dubbed ‘Ready, Teddy, Go’, will run from 10am to noon at St John the Evangelist Church.

The bears will have a ‘parachute’ on their back and will be let go from the top of the building before being picked up by ‘paramedics’.

Val Batty, one of the event’s organisers said: “It’s £2 to enter and the children will bring their teddy bears who will be hoisted up to the church tower with a parachute on.

“We’ve done this before lockdown and this is the third one we’ve done in total.

“This time the funds we raise will be going towards the church.

“This is only for very brave teddies.”
