A THEATRE performance showcasing a true tale of a historical character from Elsecar will come to the heritage centre this weekend.

Learning disabled artist Daniel Foulds will be presenting the theatre project ‘Hidden History’ – and the story of ‘Edgar’ will be shared this month.

The performances will be played as walkabout shows to audiences of 12 to 15 people, moving around the venues and using their historical backgrounds.

On July 10 and 11 ‘Edgar – A Hidden Life’ will be performed – a story of how Edgar Bower wanted to return home to Wentworth village after half a century in silence.

Daniel said: “I am very excited that Hidden History is finally happening at three unique Yorkshire venues.

“I cannot wait to see how people react to the plays and I hope to demonstrate that history is interesting and relevant.”
