COUNCIL bosses want to urge residents to go green in aid of Clean Air Day.

The national day takes place this Thursday and aims to encourage residents to ditch the car and walk or cycle to work or school.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “Clean Air Day is the UK’s largest air pollution campaign which looks to inspire people to take simple steps to protect their health, their families’ health, and children’s health from air pollution.”
