A BARNSLEY College student is trading Barnsley for Sweden – all spurred on by her love of animals.
Animal care student Maisie Wright has landed a volunteering opportunity at a horse centre with Everything Is Possible in Våxtorp.
She will spend her summer at Caprifolen horse centre which helps people with disabilities.
There Maisie will help take care of the horses and will run some of the activities such as vaulting, circus gymnastics and dance training.
“I am most looking forward to meeting new people and getting some volunteering experience as I think this will be good to have on my CV as I want to go into full-time work straight after I finish university,” said Maisie.
“I have gained experience with working with different animals on the college farm and the knowledge and skills I have picked up from my Animal Management course will allow me to flourish in Sweden.
“My advice to any students wanting to volunteer with animals is just go for it because you never know if you are going to like it if you are not there doing it.”
