BARNSLEY Hospital has re-appointed its chairman following a challenging year throughout the pandemic.

Trevor Lake was first appointed as chairman in January 2019 and has helped to lead the hospital through the pandemic.

He said: “I am of course delighted to be able to continue the work I have started here in Barnsley. The last year in particular, although not without its challenges, has filled me with immense pride for the hospital, our services and our staff colleagues.”

Alan Higgins, lead governor who was involved in the re-appointment process said: “We are very pleased with the good work achieved by Trevor in his role and the progress made in the hospital.

"The Council of Governors is confident that Trevor is the right person to lead the Board of Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as we move forwards beyond the pandemic.”
