A PARK in Redbrook - which has been blighted by antisocial behaviour in recent months - has been a key cause of concern for police.

Officers from the Barnsley North Neighbourhood Police Team have received increased reports from residents complaining about antisocial behaviour at Harry Road park.

The complaints include excessively loud music, suspected drug-dealing, underage drinking and illegal quad biking.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Local residents are concerned with the increase in antisocial behaviour at the location and we have noticed a sudden increase in the number of incidents reported.

“All complaints are taken seriously and local officers are currently working in partnership with Barnsley Council to look at a long-term solution to the current issues and to provide peace of mind for residents who live close to the area.”
