WARDENS in the town centre helped a woman who had fallen and cut her head.

Town centre wardens have been out in force over the last week in a bid to crackdown on antisocial behaviour in the area and support residents out-and-about.

Earlier today (April 22), two wardens supported a woman who fell and suffered a nasty cut to her head.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “They kept her warm and chatted to her until an ambulance arrived.

“They also located her very worried son.

“They’ve worked with businesses at Burleigh Court to deal with litter and antisocial behaviour while a litter pick on Dog Lane filled three bin bags with waste from the street.

“As restrictions ease, wardens have been helping to make the town centre better, cleaner and safer.”
