THERE’S only one day left to register your vote for the upcoming local government and Police Crime Commissioner elections in May.

To vote in these important elections on May 6, residents must be on the electoral register.

With the deadline to register to vote fast approaching, council bosses have urged people who have not registered at their current address to make sure they are registered in time.

This year, residents will be voting in a total of two different elections and will pick upcoming councillors and the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) who oversees the local police force.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “Today is the last day when you can register at the local elections.

“Don’t wait and register by midnight tonight.”
