CONSTRUCTION of a new £5m industrial warehouse in Wombwell is underway which could help provide 150 jobs in the area.
The Everill Gate Business Park will be a 54,000sq ft industrial warehouse which has been supported by the Barnsley Property Investment Fund.
The business park will be established near an already existing mixture of businesses including Cranswick Convenience Food, and Freshpak Chilled Foods, and will also be situated near Cortonwood Retail Park.
Coun Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture, said: “We are extremely excited to see the new development at Everill Gate Business Park progressing.
“These new premises will help entice new businesses to the borough, support the expansion of existing businesses and help the council to continue to grow the local economy.
“We’re supporting the development as part of the second phase of our nationally recognised Property Investment Fund programme”.
