RESIDENTS aged 55 or over have been urged to book an appointment with healthcare bosses if they have yet to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

The Barnsley CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) has asked those aged 55 and above or are clinically extremely vulnerable, an eligible frontline worker, have a learning disability or are a main carer for someone at high risk from coronavirus - to book an appointment.

Many residents have been referred to large scale sites at Sheffield Arena or Navigation Walk in Wakefield.

A spokesperson for the Barnsley CCG team said: “The large scale vaccination sites are set up to help us vaccinate as many people as possible.

“They are there as well as local vaccination teams and offer brilliant service.

“If you can travel we encourage you to get your vaccine at the first place you’re offered, which will often be at one of these larger sites.

“We’ve had lots of great feedback on the large scale sites so if you’re 55 or over check out the link or call 119.”

If you’re eligible, book an appointment here.
