RESIDENTS in Mapplewell and Staincross are being encouraged to 'shop local' as part of a new campaign to get the high street flourishing during the pandemic and beyond.
A website has been created by the Darton East Ward Alliance that helps promote local businesses to residents.
While the website is still in its early stages, it is hoped it will provide a directory of businesses, and encourage trade in the village.
A spokesperson for the Darton East Ward Alliance said: “Darton East Ward Alliance has funded the development of a dedicated Mapplewell and Staincross website to promote all businesses and activities in the area as a one-stop-shop for everything Mapplewell.
"The benefit of a website over other social media is that it is static and provides a go-to directory service that will be picked up by the search engine to optimise its position.
"It will have an ongoing and up to date what's on guide to keep you informed of what there is taking place right on your doorstep."
