A WEATHER warning has been issued in Barnsley by the Met Office.

Having already been hit with snow flurries and ice last month, Barnsley is set to be hit by snow and ice overnight tonight, February 1.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow and ice across the borough with temperatures expected to plummet to 0°C.

A spokesperson said: “A dry evening, before rain arrives from the west overnight. The rain turning to snow on its leading edge, even to low levels.

“Some significant accumulations are likely over the Pennines and North Yorkshire Moors.

“Minimum temperature 0 °C.”
