MUSEUMS across Barnsley will close their doors this week due to the third national lockdown.
The Cooper Gallery, Cannon Hall Museum, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Experience Barnsley Museum, and the Barnsley Archives have all be forced to close.
Worsborough Mill will also remain closed for an extended period, but staff will continue to mill flour.
A spokesperson for Barnsley Museums said: “Our outside spaces will remain open for you, offering safe places to spend time when they are needed most for moments of relaxation, reflection and exercise.
“The beauty and nature in our parklands and country park can have a positive impact on wellbeing and we hope that we can bring some comfort during these difficult times.
“We do urge everyone to use their local spaces and avoid unnecessary travel for exercise as well as keeping time outside to a minimum to make outside areas as safe as possible.
“If you are visiting us only do so with your household, support bubble or one other person and keep two meters apart from others.
“Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you again when it is safe to do so.”
The parklands at Cannon Hall, and Worsborough Mill will remain open, so will essential shops at Elsecar Heritage Centre.
