POLICE have launched an urgent appeal for information following a robbery in the town centre yesterday (December 30).
At around 6.45am on Wednesday, it’s reported that a milkman was making deliveries along Canal Street, when he was approached by an unknown man on foot.
The man reportedly slashed the milkman with a knife before stealing his van.
The van, a white Citroen Dispatch, was found abandoned on Lang Avenue, Lundwood a short time later.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “We would like anyone with any information or CCTV from Canal Street or Lang Avenue, or who captured the van (registration KM67 RNF) on their dash-cam to come forward.
“Call 101 quoting incident number 132 of December 30.
“Any footage can be sent through to enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk with the incident number as the subject title.”
