AN online survey has been launched by Barnsley Council to help shape funding bids for schemes which will improve the way public transport and active travel routes work together.

The short survey needs to be completed by Sunday, December 13 and can be found on the council website.

Coun Chris Lamb, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: “The current pandemic has had a major impact on public transport, but we must see beyond it.

“We want to invest in making sure people have as much opportunity to use public transport and active travel as possible instead of using cars.

“The health benefits and environmental benefits of reducing the amount of traffic on our roads are absolutely huge.

“That’s why we want to hear from you about what would make it easier and safer for you to walk and cycle more as well as use public transport.

“Please take the time to fill in our survey, and if you know someone who isn’t online but might like to give their views, please give them a call and help them take part.”
