A GROUP of police officers helped to raise more than £2,000 for charity by growing moustaches throughout Movember.

The 14 officers from Barnsley's B group each grew facial hair in aid of men's charities throughout the month of November.

Movember is a national fundraising event that takes place throughout November each year that encourages men to grow moustaches or facial hair to raise money into researching prostate and testicular cancer.

Barnsley Inspector Clive Collings said: “I am extremely proud of the team for taking part and for persevering with the growing of a moustache, it’s not easy.

“They have raised a huge amount of money that will help fellow men in getting the care, support and treatment they need.

“Not enough people talk about men’s health and taking part in a great cause as a team helps us break down those barriers.”
