IT’S the last day to place a bid in an online auction featuring an array of local artists and designs - with all the proceeds donated to the Barnsley Rough Sleepers Project.
A collection of local artists and designers have banded together to host an online auction of their pieces, with all the funds raised being donated to help the homeless across the borough.
Artists including Michael Steer, Terry Brookes, Liam Moxon and Fiona Stephenson have donated their artworks to the project for people to bid on.
Today, December 5, marks the last day that residents can place a bid for the works before the auction comes to a close.
Michael Steer, one of the artists, told We Are Barnsley: “We have had an amazing array of talented artists involved with this auction which has been unbelievable.
“From Dean Ormston’s signed print for his upcoming documentary, to local ceramicist Steve Ellis’ vase - it’s been incredible.
“We’re proud to be supporting the Rough Sleepers Project during a very difficult time for people across the borough.
“We’re so grateful for the support of people so far, hopefully on this last day we can give it one final push.”
So far, the auction has raised more than £1,800 but the team are hopeful that it could reach £2,000 by the end of the day.
Michael added: “It’s a wonderful collection and I’m honoured to be a part of it.
“If you’re looking for a unique Christmas present that you can’t find anywhere else, this would be a great way to do that whilst supporting a Barnsley-based cause.”
The auction closes at 8.30pm today. To take part in the auction, click the link here.
