CHILDREN should not mix in groups, even with their school bubble, to help minimise the spread of the virus – council bosses have warned.

This is to help prevent the spread of the virus as cases rose by more than 1,000* in the past week.

Under guidance, the council advises that residents should minimise time spent outside their own home and maintain social distancing around those who are not in your household or support bubble.

A spokesperson said: “Don't forget - children should not be meeting in groups with friends outside of school, even if they're in the same school bubble.

“You can exercise or meet in a public, outdoors space with people you live with, your support bubble (or as part of a childcare bubble), or with one other person.

“Keeping in touch with friends and family is really important.

“Video and phone calls, text messaging and sending cards or letters are great ways to do this whilst staying safe.”

Children under five-years-old and up-to two carers for a person with a disability are not counted towards the gathering limit.
