A CARE group wants to help make Christmas special, by raising money to provide a Christmas dinner and a present to each service user.
Dignity Homecare provides in-home care to elderly and vulnerable people.
To help cheer residents up during the Christmas period, staff are appealing for donations that can be raffled off to help buy a gift and a Christmas dinner for those who need it.
“Some of our service users don't have much or any family and often spend the Christmas period alone,” said support worker with Dignity, Rebecca Kaye. “This year, we predict a lot more of our service users will be alone at Christmas because of the pandemic.
“We don't want them to feel left out so we want to help make their Christmas extra-special.”
Rebecca is appealing for items that can be raffled off to help raise funds for the endeavour.
“Anything anyone can give will be greatly appreciated,” added Rebecca. “We want to make their Christmas special, especially with everything that is going off in the world right now.”
Raffle prizes can be donated to Diginity Home care on Bence Lane.
