TRIBUTES have been paid to a ‘good hearted’ man who died in a collision on the M1 over the weekend.

On Saturday evening (October 24), Daniel Pietkiel, 33, was on the carriageway between junction 37 and junction 38 on the M1 northbound when he was struck by a white Toyota Hiace.

Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene and police officers continue to support his family after the incident.

The family issued a tribute to Daniel which said: “Daniel was a much loved son, brother and father.

“In many messages from friends he was remembered as good hearted and always smiling.

“He will be sadly missed by his family and friends both in Poland and the UK.”

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information as they continue to investigate his death.
