A LOCAL charity has found a way to keep Halloween traditions alive during the coronavirus pandemic – by creating a pumpkin walk throughout the town.

Barnsley Hospice will run the first ever pumpkin trail which will encourage people to display pumpkin posters in their windows for children to find.

The event will also raise money for the hospice, which has been impacted due to the ongoing pandemic.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Hospice said: “We are hoping to fill the windows of Barnsley with as many pumpkins as possible, in support of Barnsley Hospice. For anyone who wants to take part, we also have a sheet to record how many you’ve seen on your walk round the area.”
