A SCAFFOLDING company based in Barugh Green has been spreading the word by fitting a Samaritans poster on each house they visit in the borough.

Technique Scaffolding, ran in partnership by Damian Baker and Ben Tindale, has teamed up with Barnsley Samaritans to spread awareness of the services the charity provides.

The banners will be fitted on the scaffolding at each of the jobs they complete.

Damian believes that even if one person is referred to the help-line, it will be beneficial.

He said: “We’re a Barnsley business and love meeting local residents and working in the area.

“Some people in the borough have been struggling, and the amazing volunteers at Samaritans do valuable work and we wanted to chip in.

“From my perspective, I can understand how people can struggle, especially this year. We get about in our job so could spread the word further afield.

“It’s only a little gesture, but if it affects at least one person then it’s all worth it.”

Grant Fieldsend, of Barnsley Samaritans, has thanked the company for their help in spreading awareness.

“This is brilliant visual for our help-line number and a lovely gesture from a local firm wanting to support its community,” he said.

“We can all play such a vital part in raising awareness against mental health across our community and that people are not alone with their worries.

“If anyone feels they are struggling to cope with day-to-day life experiences, our trained listening volunteers are always here 24/7 on 116123 or by emailing jo@samaritans.org.”
