A DANCE group in Royston is one of three projects across the borough to receive a share of the Co-op Local Community Fund for the area.

Yorkshire Dance Fusion, based in Royston WMC, were able to purchase new jackets from the recent payout, with other plans in the pipeline.

Each year, one per cent of the proceeds from Co-op members is donated to services that benefit community projects.

Both the Barnsley Hospital Charity and Little Nippers nursery also received a share of the grant.

Christine Eccles, the Royston Co-op Supermarket member pioneer, said: “This is hopefully a nice little boost to community projects, especially during this tough time.

“It’s the Royston Co-op members that have helped to make this happen which is great.

“It’s great to see some local causes get help and support.”
