EXPERIENCE Barnsley is set to reopen for the first time since March next week.

On September 5, the Barnsley museum will welcome visitors back following a temporary closure during the lockdown.

People will be able to visit the galleries with new social distancing guidelines in place.

The archives will be appointment-only and will open a week later than the rest of the gallery, on September 14.

A spokesperson for Experience Barnsley said: “We have been working hard to make our galleries a safe space for when you arrive.

“Although it may be a little different it will still be the same warm welcome and enjoyable experience it always was.

“You will have to wait a little longer for our archives and discovery centre which will be reopening on September 14 by appointment only.”
