PEOPLE in Barnsley are being asked for their views on the future priorities for police officers in the borough.

A survey launched by services including South Yorkshire Police, Barnsley Council and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, hopes to target major issues involving crime and antisocial behaviour in the area.

Residents are invited to give their opinions on police strategy which will help to shape priorities next year.

Coun Jenny Platts, cabinet spokesperson for communities, said: “Over the last few months, most of our communities will have spent more time at home and will have a richer understanding of what they want to see in their local area.

“This survey is the perfect opportunity for people to get involved and shape the future of the Barnsley borough.

“I would encourage you to take part in these conversations so that we can see the full picture of what our communities are experiencing, and make sure our priorities continue to reflect local needs.”

The survey can be completed before midnight on September 25.
