POSTAL deliveries are expected to return to normal after the Barnsley delivery office was closed for a week following positive coronavirus tests.
The office underwent a deep clean last Monday (June 22) and was closed for the rest of the week after several positive tests were recorded.
As a result, postal deliveries to the the S70, S71, S72 and S75 post codes was delayed.
Royal Mail has confirmed that delivery services are expected to return to normal but deliveries may still be delayed.
A spokesperson for Royal Mail said: “Barnsley Delivery Office is now open, however ongoing resourcing issues mean delivery services in the S70, S71, S72 and S75 will be attempted but may be limited again today, Monday June 29.
“The customer service point is open until 9am as advertised, and mail collections from priority boxes, business customers and Post Office branches will be made this afternoon.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.”
