STAFF and residents from Thornhill House residential home dressed as super heroes in a bid to boost morale.
The event was part of a schedule which sees staff at the home dress up in different fancy dress each day, to try and stimulate the residents.
Christian Whiteley-Mason, who has been the general manager at the home for the last five years, saw it as a great opportunity to keep morale up in the home.
He said: “We’ve been dressing up in a different theme each day, last Friday was the super hero day, Saturday we all wore our pyjamas, and on Sunday we held a beach party.
“The residents here are always saying that the staff are like super heroes, coming in to help them in times like these, so we thought it would be a good idea to implement that in some way.
“A lady from Royston made us the costumes and masks free of charge and it was a great day.”
This isn’t the only thing the home are doing though, as activities are being planned for the coming weeks to help keep the residents happy whilst they’re unable to see their families.
“We’ve got a cocktail party happening on Thursday and we’ve even got a day at the races planned for next week,” Christian added.
“We’re looking for people to donate hats and fascinators to us, so that we’re able to put on the best day that we possibly can.
“Everyone here remain in such high spirits at the moment, we’re getting staff coming in on their days off, and the morale around the whole place is really, really high.”
