PLANNING permission is being sought to erect signage for a new shoe shop in the town centre.
The former Optical Express building on Queen Street is currently vacant, but plans have been submitted to Barnsley Council to turn it into a Clarks store.
The application seeks to add new signage to the store whilst changing the colour of the existing shopfront from white to black.
Residents have until May 3 to submit their views to the council.
