MORE than 4,000 youngsters under the age of 17 have sought mental health support in Barnsley, shock new figures have revealed.
According to an NHS report, a total of 4,140 people – predominantly teenagers – have received contact from support services in the last year.
Barnsley East MP Stephanie Peacock said: “It is so important that children know how to express anything that they are struggling with to someone they trust.
“If you or your child are struggling with your mental health, there are lots of excellent services who can help.”
