A 65-year-old man has been arrested and bailed following a fatal road traffic collision at Barugh Green yesterday afternoon.
A 75-year-old man and 85-year-old woman died at the scene and police have made a witness appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Officers were called at 2pm to reports of an incident at Barugh Green crossroad junction.
It is reported that a white Suzuki and a grey Range Rover collided, with multiple other vehicles also being involved.
The victims’ family are currently being supported by officers.
Seven other people received hospital treatment, where their injuries were thought to be serious but not life-threatening.
