Aaron Kirkwood has said that he sees the new leisure pool as a regional attraction, not just a Barnsley attraction. For the younger children, the neighbouring Doncaster Dome charges £1.20 for under 5s and it's free at Sheffield Ponds Forge and Hillsborough for under 5s. What is the admission charge at the Metrodome for a 4 year old?.

Hi, the admission prices have not changed and all prices, opening times etc. can be found on our website www.bpl.org.uk

The prices on the web site (http://www.bpl.org.uk/barnsley/metrodome-leisure-complex/prices) show a price of £4.20 for a "Junior Fun Swim". It does not state what age ranges a "Junior" covers on this page, which is where you would reasonably expect it to be. Neighbouring authorities sensibly have a reduced price admission to similar facilities for children under 5. What is the Metrodome's policy?

If you visit http://www.bpl.org.uk/calypso-cove/calypso-cove-prices this has the specific prices for Calypso Cove. Children under 3 are still £1 and those 3 years and over are classed as a Junior which is £4.40 with rides. To clarify a Junior Swim is without rides and a Junior Fun Swim is with rides.

Why is their a difference of 20p between the Waterpark Adult Fun Swim at £5.50 - (http://www.bpl.org.uk/barnsley/metrodome-leisure-complex/prices ), and the Calypso Cove Price Adult Fun Swim with rides of  £5.70? Is Calypso Cove a partitioned off area?

£1m?  It looks like they've just painted the old slides and put a load of plastic pirate shizzle up?  As long as the kids enjoy it anyway, I've not been for about 12 years.

3 of the slides are defo brand new and 1 was only a few yrs old anyway i think, if you haven't been, why not visit and see for yourself before making a judgement, so many negative people on here when this is a good thing for our town!

Thank you for all of your comments and feedback about our website. We have been in the process of updating the website over the last week to ensure we have information about Calypso Cove on there. Admittedly, we have not updated various sections and acknowledge that this has caused some confusion. If you would like to visit the website now we have, after taking on board your comments, updated it accordingly and hope that this will resolve the confusion it has caused.

We appreciate you getting in touch as without feedback from the public we would not be aware of these issues.

i too think the price is very expensive compared to other pools i am only able to now go below waist height in the pool as the non swimmer signs have been moved closer to the shallow end my very small two year old can touch the floor and all the pools are the same just paint and the pirate ship that takes up a lot of room and doesnt reall do much, and before you ask son has lessons there and swims and me and my daughter have continued to go swimming all through the development
