Tribute planned for Cryne

Tuesday January 23 2018

BARNSLEY fans are planning a tribute to Patrick Cryne in the 66th minute of the club's game against Fulham at the weekend.

Mr Cryne - hailed as the saviour of the club after he stepped in to rescue Barnsley from liquidation in 2003 - sadly died aged 66 at the weekend following a battle with cancer.

Fans on Twitter say they're planning a 66th minute tribute at Oakwell on Saturday to honour Cryne.

Jake Hall wrote: "In the 66th Minute against Fulham can we all turn on our phone lights/torches and sing Patrick Cryne he's one of our own. Fulham fans joining in as well would be appreciated."

The club are also expected to pay tribute.
